In light of Dr. Seuss’ 108th birthday, I figured this would be a good time to share these! I’ve had these pics from Buzzfeed in my share folder for awhile. I love them!
I find Dr. Seuss’ whimsical way of making philosophical & political commentary inspiring. Looking at his work, it’s obvious he was a skeptic, a rationalist, and a humanist with a critical eye and an active mind. His creative stroke & expansive imagination are the front door that welcomes you into his world of ideas.
I recently found out that amidst World War II, Dr. Seuss was a political cartoonist before he began writing children’s books (you can see some of his cartoons here). Shifting his audience from adults to children? Brilliant.
“Adults are just obsolete children and the hell with them.”
